Jeffery showed his talent in the beginning of last season, but injuries put a damper on what could have been a solid rookie campaign for Jeffery. We all know how good Jeffery’s hands are; many experts thought he had the best hands in the 2012 NFL draft. When you add in his height at 6’3, he has the ideal size to become a red zone monster, which in fantasy circles equals TDs. And we love TDs. The only negative Jeffery had coming into the NLF was his work ethic, which I believe he improved upon while working out with Brandon Marshal all offseason. Look for Jeffery to climb up the charts and don’t be the owner who passes on him late in your fantasy draft.
Projection: 900 yards, 8TDs
Tate has all the talent to become a 1,400 yard, 13 TD running back. The problem is that he is behind Arian Foster. Taking that into consideration, I still see Tate being a solid #4 fantasy back. Plus, with the chance of something happening to Foster, who has become more injury prone, Tate could become a fantasy-one running back. Remember, this is Tate’s contract year so he wants to put on a show for a big contract next season. Tate is the best backup running back in the NFL.
Projection: 700 rushing yards, 6 TDs
3. Tandem: Matt Flynn/Denarius Moore
Yes, I know Denarius Moore is a Raider. And yes, he is a Raider that plays WR. AND YES, he has Matt Flynn as his starting QB. So that’s a bad thing, right? Wrong! Matt Flynn is extremely underrated across ranking projections and in the opinions of profession analysts. This is a guy that has the most passing yards in one game in Packers history. Not Brett Favre, not Aaron Rogers. Matt Flynn. When Flynn played for the Packers, players would say all the time that he looked better in practice than Rogers did. Considering all that, Denarius Moore has an opportunity to be a big fish in a small pond with Flynn as his QB. Moore is a very talented and fast WR, so Flynn is going to be looking for Moore like the Jets are looking for a QB: All Year Long.
Projection: Moore: 950 receiving yards, 6 TDs, Flynn: 2,900 passing yards, 17 TDs, 9 INTs
